We have limited supply of Monkeypox vaccine for those who qualify and are at high risk.

Soon we should have the Moderna /SPIKEVAX booster for COVID-19 that is supposed to cover for the Omicron strain as well.  Anyone, 12 and older, who’s gone through the original MRNA vaccine series and has had at least 4 months since the last shot qualifies to get this vaccine.  We will update once this vaccine arrives.

Recently NIH updated their recommendations for treatment of COVID-19.  The guidelines dictates that before using MCA’s, one must consider and rule out the use of Paxlovid and/or Remdesivir.  It is very likely that the insurance companies will follow this guidelines.  This means a valid reason must me present to chose MCA’s over the other two and superiority of this medication is not good enough.  Lack of a valid reason will mean that the patient will be responsible for the entire cost.  Soon MCA’s will be available commercially and not through the government.  Although, this will increase the accessibility to this medication, but at $2100 plus per dose, not a whole lot of folks will be able to afford it.  Please take care of yourselves, we are expecting a much higher than normal volume for this flu season.

Classen Urgent Care – Moore, in Moore, Oklahoma was one of 8 urgent care facilities nominated in the “Best of Moore and South OKC” awards in 2022.

We were presented the winning trophy on July 12, 2022 during the awards dinner at the OCCC Performing Arts Center.

We currently have only very few doses left.  We can not reserve for anyone.  Please do not call to ask about the availability, as this will change by the time you get here.  We have to examine and assess your severity of illness and history to come up with the best course of therapy that is currently available to us.

We have been seeing a steady increase, however, this seems to be getting a bit worse.  Add this matter to the fact that the government is soon to be running out of MonoClonal Antibodies (MCA’s), it makes for a very worrisome next few months.  The infusions are supposed to be commercially available by 8/15/2022, but there are a whole lot of things to work out by then.  There  are other treatments available, but our experience has shown that the MCA’s are better tolerated with less side effects.

Also, Novavax COVID-19 vaccine is now available.  This vaccine is made unlike the ones like Pfizer and Moderna (MRNA vaccines).  This vaccine is made like the traditional Flu vaccines and can not be mixed or used as a booster to the MRNA vaccines.

Effective July 16th, 2022, we will continue providing Monoclonal Antibody Infusions up to 3 hours prior to closing times for either of our clinics.  This means Moore clinic will be able to provide this service 7 days per week from 7am-5pm and the Norman clinic will until 7pm also 7 days per week.  As usual, you do not need an appointment.
